STAMP ACTIVE COMPETITION 2008
This year the Stamp Active Competition will take place at the National Philatelic Exhibition to be held at the Harrogate Exhibition Centre from Friday 2nd May to
Saturday 3rd May.
The entries are judged in four age groups: up to 9; 10 an 11; 12 and 13; 14 to 16.
In each group, the sender of the best entry wins a cup, but there are also cups for the best overall entry, and the most promising entry. There is also a trophy awarded to the best group entry. All entries are given an award, ranging from gold level to a certificate.
You must send in your completed entry form by Friday, March 14, 2008 (ask someone to help you if you are unsure about how to fill in the form). You will need to send in your entry to arrive no later than Friday March 28, 2008.

It is regretted that on this occasion entries can only be submitted and returned by post: it will not be possible to deliver or collect entries personally.
STAMP ACTIVE COMPETITION
RULES
1. Each entry can be of 4, 8, 12, 16 or 24 sheets. However, if you have won at silver level, the next time you enter you must put in more sheets (in other words, if you have won a silver with 8 sheets, next time you must put in at least 12 sheets). Each exhibitor may enter a maximum of two entries.
2. All the pages must be A4, and enclosed in a protective clear cover.
3. Write your name on the BACK of each sheet, and also number each sheet on the back in order (that is, from 1 onwards).
4. When sending your sheets in the post, make sure they are well protected with sheets of cardboard, and never fold your sheets.
5. Your entry can be of a theme (such as flowers, sports, animals, and so on) or of a particular country. You can include stamps, both unused and used, postcards, envelopes with stamps, stamps showing postmarks that apply to your theme, stamp booklets and miniature sheets. Ask your stamp group leader for help.
6. You can write up your pages by hand or by computer, but all must be your own work.
7. Entries are accepted from groups, such as the members of a stamp club, in addition to individuals.
The entries are marked on the following basis:
A is 14 to 16
B is 12 and 13
C is 10 and 11
D is up to 9

The awards are on the following basis:
Up to 40 points – certificate
40 to 49 – bronze
50 to 59 – silver-bronze
60 to 69 – silver
70 to 79 – silver gilt
80 and over – gold.
The best in each age group wins a cup, and the overall best entry wins the Kidstamps Cup. The best Group entry wins the Myers Shield.
